Seoul (4/11), the Faculty of Engineering, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (FT UMM) once again made brilliant achievements at the international level through the participation of two of its best female students in the 2023 Seoul International Invention Fair (SIIF). The event was organized by the Korean Invention Promotion Association (KIPA) It will be held at COEX, Seoul, South Korea, on November 1-4 2023.
Two students representing FT UMM, namely Evita Leninda Fahriza Ayuni and Alifia Oriana Prabaswara, won the Silver Medal and Special Prize from King Abdulaziz University. The two daughters managed to stand out with their project entitled "Pre-Maintenance Detection of Road Surface Based on Digital Image Processing."
This project not only caught the attention of the judges, but also received special recognition from a well-known university in Saudi Arabia, King Abdulaziz University. This success is clear evidence of FT UMM's commitment to producing innovations that can have a positive impact at the global level.
This brilliant achievement cannot be separated from the intensive guidance of the supervisor, Mr. Dr. Ir. Suwarsono, MT, from UMM Mechanical Engineering. In addition, support from Mr. Dr. Nur Subeki, ST., MT, Deputy Chancellor III of UMM, also encouraged students to achieve achievements on the international stage.
For additional information, SIIF 2023 was attended by participants from 26 countries with a total of 484 inventions on display. The success of FT UMM in winning the award is a source of pride for the entire university academic community and also the Malang community in general. It is hoped that this achievement can be an inspiration for other students to continue to innovate and make the nation proud on the international stage.
