FT-UMM Successfully Holds International Conference on Technology, Informatics, and Engineering (IconTine).

    Malang, (28/7) Faculty of Engineering, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (FT UMM) successfully held the International Conference on Technology, Informatics, and Engineering (IconTine). In this activity, several experts in their fields came from the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), California Polytechnic State University (CalPoly) United States of America, and Osaka University, Japan. This event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, July 28, 2021. The event will be held virtually via Zoom and broadcast live on Youtube ftummofficial which is attended by all guests including seminar participants.

    The existence of the COVID-19 pandemic did not prevent the committee from holding an international conference. The event took place virtually with the organizing committee still adhering to the Health protocol. Before entering the main activity, the event was opened by Vice-Chancellor I, Prof. Syamsul Arifin., M.Sc. When delivering his speech, he expressed his gratitude and thanked all the committee and participants for their participation in this activity. It is known that IconTine participants come from various countries including Hungary, India, South Korea, the United States of America, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Indonesia. Meanwhile, domestic participants came from various universities.

   

    The keynote speaker on this occasion was Prof. Dr. Taufik a researcher in the field of renewable energy, especially in the field of DC-House. When explaining that in the current technology era, the use of DC or Direct Current electricity loads such as cellphones, TVs, laptops, and others is increasing. In his view, of course, when we switch from an Alternating Current (AC) power source to DC it will be more effective because it reduces electricity conversion losses. The next presentation is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Yasuhiro Mizutani, from Osaka University, Japan. He explained research related to Ghost Sensing, which is a sensing device or measurement of micro-objects. In his explanation, the research results can be applied in industries such as more thorough product checking, an inspection of object cracks, and the health sector. In closing the plenary session, Prof. Ilyas Masudin, ST., MLogSCM.Ph.D, who is a Professor from the University of Muhammadiyah Malang in the field of Logistics and Supply Chain. In his presentation, he researched the logistics distribution of products, especially food and health in the pandemic era. This agenda went well, it could be seen from the enthusiasm of the participants to ask questions to the presenters. Furthermore, the agenda was continued with the presentation of the results of research conducted by IconTine participants.
