Malang, (31/12) Faculty of Engineering was crowned as the overall winner of the Rector Cup 2021 at the 2021 UMM Student Award which was held at the UMM Dome Hall on Wednesday, December 15, 2021. This achievement is an extraordinary achievement achieved by the Faculty of Engineering in 2021. Various achievements, both in academic and non-academic fields, have been presented to UMM.
As is well known, the Rector's Cup is the most awaited event by UMM University students as the culmination of a series of activities to test the ability of interests and talents, reasoning, and spirituality. The event is held regularly every year and becomes the peak event of various competitions at UMM. Each faculty will send its delegation to compete with other faculty delegates in each branch of the competition. In 2021, the Faculty of Engineering managed to win many competition categories and get the most gold medals, thus coming out as the overall champion and entitled to rotating trophies.
At the event, the academic community of the Faculty of Engineering also received several awards, including "Assisting Lecturer and Inspirational Student Achievement" which was achieved by Drs. Mohammad Jufri, ST., MT. (Mechanical Engineering), "Students with the Best Achievements in the Field of Technology Digitization" was achieved by Zidni Ilman Nafian (Mechanical Engineering), and "Students with the Most Student Achievements" was achieved by 2 Study Programs at once, namely Mechanical Engineering (rank 1) and Engineering Informatics (rank 3). In addition, from the non-academic field, one of the Student Activity Units is fostered by a Mechanical Engineering Lecturer, Murjito, ST., MT. namely Tapak Suci, which also won first place.
Drs. Mohammad Jufri, ST., MT. is a supervisory lecturer of LSO Mechatronics who managed to lead the UMM Fast Boat Team to win 3 times the National Unmanned Fast Boat Contest (KKCTBN) 3 times in a row, namely in 2019, 2020, and 2021. Unmitigated, this achievement was achieved by 2 of the team that was sent to the KKCTBN event, namely the Electric Remote Control (ERC) and Fuel Engine Remote Control (FERC) prototypes.
In the field of technology digitization, Zidni Ilman Nafian's achievements are very proud. Zidni is a creative student who is the originator of various technologies. His ideas and innovations have won national recognition and have provided wide benefits. From a long time ago, Zidni was known to like to wrestle with mechanical devices, disassemble electronic devices, and manipulate them to satisfy curiosity. His desire to provide solutions prompted him to create new breakthroughs. Call it the brilliant idea of a smartphone that provides a solution for lobster farmers in increasing aquaculture production. His oil feasibility application makes it easier for the public to detect the quality of the oil used. In addition, Zidni also made a good tracking radar which had gone viral on various national and social media, bringing fresh air in an effort to secure the archipelago's marine zone.
