Jakarta (3/11), The University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) LSO Mechatronic Team won a prestigious award at the 2023 Energy Saving Car Contest (KMHE) organized by the National Achievement Center (PUSPRESNAS) and the Indonesian Talent Development Center (BPTI) at the Jakarta International ePrix Circuit (JIEC), Ancol, from 29 October to 2 November 2023.
The UMM team, which competed in the Ethanol Prototype category, managed to get third place in a tight competition. With a total score of almost 300 points, they are only slightly behind strong competitors such as the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) and the University of Malang (UM). This success is a proud achievement for this team from Malang.
UMM team manager, Naufal Wicaksono, felt grateful for the achievements achieved by his team, especially after facing difficulties in the previous competition which resulted in them failing to finish (DNF). Naufal Wicaksono stated, "This is an extraordinary achievement for us. We have worked hard and overcome various obstacles. This third position is clear proof of our hard work."
However, the Urban Gasoline category team from UMM was not lucky enough to get a podium in this competition. Team manager, Garibaldi Sadam, revealed that this category is a very competitive group, with strong competitors such as Gadjah Mada University (UGM) and the host University of Indonesia (UI).
Mr. Dr. Yepy Komaril Sofi'i, ST., MT., who is the supervisor of the UMM LSO Mekatronic car team, also provided his support to the team. "Next year we have to do more to get even better results," said Mr. Yepy, showing determination to continue to develop and improve the achievements of the UMM Mechatronic team in the future.
This brilliant achievement shows that the LSO Mechatronic UMM team has great potential and will continue to strive to achieve even brighter achievements in the future. Congratulations to the UMM team for their extraordinary achievements in the 2023 Energy Efficient Car Contest.
