Student’s Association
Leadership and management skills development have become our main concerns beside academic activities. Students can learn and improve their skills in term of leadership, organizational management, problem solving, communication skill, and cooperation ability through the student’s association. Every department has their own student’s associations. Some of the student’s activities in the department are organized by the association. On the faculty level, there exists faculty students’ executive board, where all department associations rooted. There exist five student’s associations in the Faculty of Engineering, namely:
Student’s Innovation Group
Students’ innovation group is the group of students who has the same interest in certain applications of technology. On the group, students learn and improve their knowledge and skills to perform some innovations and creativities related to their interest and prepare for involving in competitions. Almost all of the groups have been active and have participated in national and international competitions. On the last five years, the groups have won many trophies from several national and international events. The lists below are the innovation groups available in the Faculty of Engineering:

Robotics is a group of students who has interest in various robots (wheeled, legged, and flying robots) and autonomous ship technologies.

Mechatronics is a group of students who has interest in electric car technology and electric & fuel engine ships with remote controls.

Apart from the mentioned activities, students also can improve their capacities and interest in the following activities or unit activities:
This program is a compulsory activity for first year students to joint and stay for one week in dormitory. It’s a special program for new students that might not be found in other universities.
This activity is prepared for students to learn Islam and Muhammadiyah movement in detail through courses or regular discussions.
There exist 46 UKMs in University of Muhammadiyah Malang, which are divided into two types of UKM consisting of reasoning and interest & talent. The UKMs are prepared for students from all faculties who has the same interest and talent, such as sports, dancing, writing, photography, etc.
