Erasmus+ higher education student mobility program is a mobility program for students to visit one of universities in Europe that is involved in the cooperation program. The students stay for a week on the chosen university to attend the selected class or other activities.
There have been many engineering students who have had the opportunity to conduct study exchanges at several universities abroad, for example, at Lublin University of Technology Poland in 2013 and 2017, Wroclow University of Science and Technology, Poland and Universitatea Polytehnica Timisoara, Romania in 2020. Learning Express is a collaborative program between the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) and Singapore Polytechnic involving 25 Singaporean students and 25 UMM students. It is an overseas social innovation project where the students have to complete the task in 2 weeks. Students use design thinking methodology to co-create innovative prototype solutions for real-life issues.
Through this project, students can apply their teamwork and communication skills, develop a better understanding of themselves, empathy for the community, and realize the positive impact for the lives of a community in need. More information about this program can be found here.
The main activities under SEA-TVET consortium are (1) students exchange, (2) staff exchange, (3) industrial attachment for students, (4) industrial attachment for staff, (5) sharing expertise and resources, and (6) research collaboration.
Students' exchange will be performed by TVET institutions. The number and the duration will be decided by participating in schools, colleges, and polytechnics. Ideally, the minimum duration for student’s exchange is six months or one year, but considering various school capacity, an institution may have a shorter duration of student exchange.
