The Faculty of Engineering, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) held a meeting with the parents of new student guardians in the academic year 2019/2020 at UMM Dome and continued in the Engineering Hall of the Joint Lecture Building 3, Saturday (6/15).
UMM invited all parents of new students and their guardians who successfully passed the first wave of New Student Admission Selection Tests for friendship and open dialogue about the lecture process.
In the meeting, all UMM structural officials were present. Starting from the UMM Rector, Dr. H. Fauzan, M.Pd., accompanied by the ranks of Vice Chancellors I, II and III, Prof. Dr. Syamsul Arifin, M.Sc., Dr. Nazaruddin Malik, M.Sc. and Dr. Sidiq Sunaryo, SH., M.Sc, M.Hum, and the Deans of each Faculty to the Head of Bureau at UMM.
The program began with the awarding of scholarships to new students who managed to obtain the highest grades in each faculty at UMM in the first wave of PMB selection and the signing of a statement as a new UMM student symbolically.
UMM Rector, Dr. H. Fauzan, M.Pd urges parents or guardians of students to encourage their sons and daughters to be active in extracurricular activities such as joining intra-campus organizations or Student Activity Units (UKM). "We hope that all ladies and gentlemen encourage their sons and daughters to participate in student activities. Do not let the sons and daughters of this father only lecture, "the Rector ordered the guardians of students.
Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Ahmad Mubin, MT conveyed the importance of soft skills that must be possessed by new students of the Faculty of Engineering. "In order for a balance of intellectual, emotional and spiritual intelligence, students will be fostered in the field of student skills while hardskill will be fostered in the academic field."
