Malang, July 4, 2024 - The Faculty of Engineering, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) is once again holding a student innovation exhibition. This time, it was the turn of the Mechanical Engineering Study Program to hold the 2024 Mechanical Engineering Expo (MEXPO). The event, which took place at the UMM Mechanical Engineering Lab on July 4, 2024, exhibited more than 40 student design works and prototypes, as well as 3D printing works and winning prototypes from the Mechatronic Semi-Autonomous Institution (LSO).
MEXPO 2024 was officially opened by the Head of the UMM Academic Administration Board (BAA), Zulfatman, Ph.D. In his speech, Mr. Zulfatman appreciated the creativity and innovation of UMM Mechanical Engineering students. He hopes that MEXPO 2024 can be a place for students to show their work and inspire other young generations to work.
The ribbon cutting as a sign of the opening of MEXPO 2024 was carried out by the Deputy Dean I of the UMM Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Machmud Effendy, ST., MT. In his speech, Mr. Machmud Effendy said that MEXPO 2024 is real proof of the commitment of the UMM Mechanical Engineering Study Program in producing competent graduates who are ready to compete in the world of work.
Various innovative works by UMM Mechanical Engineering students were exhibited at MEXPO 2024. One that caught the attention was the automatic animal feed shredder machine. This machine is designed to help farmers process animal feed more easily and efficiently.
In addition, there is also a coffee roasting machine with fins stirrer that can produce coffee with a more delicious aroma and taste. This machine is equipped with an automatic temperature control system so that it can produce coffee with consistent quality.
MEXPO 2024 is not only a place to exhibit student work, but also a place for students to learn and exchange ideas. Students can discuss their work with lecturers and practitioners and get input to develop their work further.
MEXPO 2024 is expected to motivate UMM Mechanical Engineering students to continue to innovate and create. In addition, this event is also expected to be a means of promoting UMM's Mechanical Engineering Study Program to the wider community.
