In the beginning 2014 Faculty of Engineering University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) was greeted by the top of 8th IT Battle event on Saturday, January 04, 2014. This event was annual event from Department of Informatics Engineering since 2006. There were various categories that were contested in 8th IT Battle such as web design, game maker, and application development. All participants have competed since the beginning of December 2013 through collecting step and proposal selection the result of creativity and the concept of design.
In the top of event was attended by Hariyadi S.Kom, MT as head of Informatics Laboratory, Eko Budi Cahyono, S.kom, MT as head of Informatics Engineering Department, Ir, Sudarman MT as the Dean of Engineering faculty and all participant who wait the result of assessment from their work that they made. In the beginning of event the participant was offered with live music special and then continued with some speech. There were some speeches from Eko who really support this IT Battle and in his speech IT Students can keep creativity and to compete both in world work or society. As well as the speech from Ir Sudarman MT in his speech he hoped students can compete in national or international to build students’ mental and confident to create a creativity.
The next agenda was awaited agenda by all participants, is announcement the winner application development category. Three the best participants are development program sales application in cafeteria, the program of Laptop sales application and the program of UKM application. In the top of event was conducted talk show with the theme “Peluang dan Tantangan Mobile Technology” delivered by 3 speaker are Adib Toriq about windows phone, Septian Andika about Android, and Sundar Yatno about Iphone, then the agenda was continued with giving award to other category.
