Malang (29/1), Faculty of Engineering, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (FT UMM) held a Workshop on Developing Strategies for Achieving KTW (On-Time Graduation) and Implementing Outcome Based Education (OBE) Curriculum towards IABEE General Accreditation. This event took place at Sengkaling Recreation Park, UMM on January 29, 2024.
This workshop was attended by the Dean of FT UMM, Mr. Prof. Ir. Ilyas Masudin, MLogSCM., Ph.D., Vice Dean I (Mr. Zulfatman, ST., M.Eng., Ph.D.), Head of Informatics Study Program (Mr. Galih Wasis Wicaksono, Ir., S.kom. M.Cs.), Head of the IABEE Informatics Study Program Task Force Team (Mr. Yufis Azhar, Ir., S.Kom., M.Kom.), and lecturers in the FT UMM environment.
Welcome and Direction
Dean of FT UMM, Prof. Ilyas Masudin, in his speech emphasized the importance of achieving KTW and implementing OBE in improving the quality of education at FT UMM. He also said that IABEE accreditation is one of the efforts to improve FT UMM's competitiveness in the international arena.
Workshop Material
This workshop is divided into two sessions. The first session discussed the strategy for achieving KTW delivered by the Head of the Informatics Study Program, Mr. Galih Wasis Wicaksono. In this session, Mr. Galih explained various strategies that can be applied to improve KTW at FT UMM, such as:
The second session discussed the implementation of OBE and strategies for dealing with IABEE assessor visitations delivered by the Head of the IABEE Informatics Study Program Task Force Team, Mr. Yufis Azhar. In this session, Mr. Yufis shared tips for submitting IABEE documents and strategies for dealing with visits by assessors.
Discussion and Evaluation
The event was then continued with a small discussion of each criterion to be more focused on compiling the documents that will be prepared as evidence. This workshop was closed with an evaluation and presentation of certificates to participants.
Conclusion
This workshop is expected to help FT UMM in improving KTW and OBE implementation, as well as achieving IABEE accreditation. Thus, FT UMM can produce graduates who are qualified and competitive in the international arena.
