Batam (3/8), the Faculty of Engineering, University of Muhammadiyah Malang, and Rainbow Tubular Manufacture have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which aims to develop the Metaverse application and monitor students interning at the company. The MoU signing event took place on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at the Rainbow Tubular Manufacture head office in Batam. Representation from the Faculty of Engineering, University of Muhammadiyah Malang consists of the Dean, Mr. Prof. Ir. Ilyas Masudin, ST., M.LogSCM., Ph.D., and Vice Dean I, Mr. Zulfatman, Ph.D. Meanwhile, Rainbow Tubular Manufacture was represented by company officials.
The main objective of this MoU is to design and develop innovative and powerful Metaverse applications. The Metaverse application is expected to facilitate interactions and richer learning experiences for students of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Muhammadiyah Malang. Using Metaverse technology, students will have access to an immersive simulation environment, enabling them to practice technical skills in a safe and immersive virtual environment. In addition to the development of the Metaverse application, this MoU also includes an agreement to monitor students who are undergoing an internship program at Rainbow Tubular Manufacture. This monitoring is expected to facilitate the learning process and provide proper support to students during their internship at the company. With careful monitoring, it is hoped that the relationship between the university and the company will be even closer, providing positive benefits for both parties.
In his speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Muhammadiyah Malang, Mr. Prof. Ir. Ilyas Masudin, ST., M.LogSCM., Ph.D., expressed his hope that this collaboration could be a milestone for the development of educational technology and provide wider opportunities for students to develop in the industrial world. In addition, he also expressed his gratitude for the good cooperation from Rainbow Tubular Manufacture in realizing this agreement. Meanwhile, representatives from Rainbow Tubular Manufacture also expressed their commitment to fully support the development of Metaverse applications and ensure that student interns gain useful experience during their internship at the company. With the signing of this MoU, both parties hope that this partnership will have a positive and sustainable impact in supporting the education and development of students in engineering as well as strengthening the bond between the university and the industrial world.
