UMM Faculty of Engineering Ramadan Study Discusses Internalization of Muhammadiyah Work Ethic

Malang, March 22, 2024 – The Faculty of Engineering, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) held a Ramadhan Study and breaking the fast together at Rayz Hotel UMM on Friday, March 22, 2024. This study raised the theme "Internalization of Muhammadiyah Work Ethics" by presenting Drs. KH. Wakidi (Secretary of the Muhammadiyah Daily Advisory Board) as a speaker. The event was moderated by Haneef Nouval Alannibras Humaidi, S.T., M.Eng., a lecturer in Electrical Engineering UMM.

This study was attended by the academic community of the UMM Faculty of Engineering, including lecturers and employees. The event began with the reading of the holy verses of the Al-Quran and remarks from the Dean of the UMM Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Ir. Ilyas Masudin, M.LogSCM., Ph.D.

In his remarks, Prof. Ilyas said that this Ramadhan Study is one of the efforts of the UMM Faculty of Engineering to increase the faith and piety of the academic community, as well as a forum to strengthen the relationship between academic communities.

KH. Wakidi in his presentation said that the Muhammadiyah work ethic is work that is based on sincerity, dedication, and devotion to Allah SWT and humanity. This work ethic must be instilled and internalized in every Muhammadiyah cadre.

"Becoming a sincere Muhammadiyah cadre requires emulating KH Ahmad Dahlan who was willing to sacrifice his possessions for the progress of the Organization," explained KH. Wakidi.

Furthermore, KH. Wakidi said that muhammadiyah's work ethic can be realized in several ways, namely:

  • Having a straight and sincere intention in working
  • Working professionally and enthusiastically
  • Working together with a team
  • Maintaining integrity and ethics
  • Never giving up and always innovating

The event was also enlivened by a quiz session and door prizes with attractive prizes. In addition, the event was also enlivened by a Tracing of the History of the UMM Faculty of Engineering.

This Ramadan study is expected to provide inspiration and motivation for the academic community of the UMM Faculty of Engineering always to uphold the Muhammadiyah work ethic in carrying out their respective duties and responsibilities.
