Malang (14/6), the Faculty of Engineering through LSO Robotics again participated in the prestigious National Robot competition this year. At the 2023 National Indonesian Robot Contest (KRI), UMM sent 2 teams in the categories of the Indonesian SAR Robot Contest (KRSRI) and the Wheeled Indonesian Soccer Robot Contest (KRSBI) after previously passing the KRI Region 2 selection which includes East Java, Bali, Kalimantan and Sulawesi on June 1-3.
At KRSRI which will be held at Semarang University (USM) on June 22-24, UMM sent 1 robot with the name Dome, while in the KRSBI on wheels, UMM sent 1 robot team named Zhafarul consisting of 2 attacking robots and 1 goalkeeper robot. All preparations have been made by the Zhafarul Team and the Dome Team. The Zhafarul team has made preparations which include coordination between attacking robots, obstacle avoidance, and improving shooting accuracy, said Aditya Nugraha Putra (Electrical Engineering) with other team members consisting of Salman Al-Farisi Ramadhani (Electrical Engineering), Aditya Septiawan Dwi Andika (Electrical Engineering), Adhitya Ramadhani (Electrical Engineering), Wanda Nurfadila (Informatics), and Moh Dzaky Tri Aditya (Electrical Engineering).
According to Novendra Setyawan, S.T., M.T., this year's preparation is better than the previous year because this year's robot is the result of development and improvement from the previous year's robot both in terms of hardware and algorithm. With all the preparations made, we hope to get positive results, especially being able to win, he said. Meanwhile the Dome Team, this year has a tough challenge because it is required to save 5 victims in an arena that has obstacles in the form of coral stones, gravel, unbalanced road obstacles, and high steps. According to Khusnul Hidayat, S.T., M.T., who is the supervisor of his team consisting of 3 students Ahmad Syauqi Ramadhani (Electrical Engineering), M. Aditya Dzikra (Industrial Engineering) and M. Darma Putra Ramadhan (Informatics), the preparation of the dome team itself has been very ready to go through all the obstacles and save the victims. He said this after previously in the KRSRI region 2 selection on June 1-3 yesterday the Dome Robot had not succeeded in climbing the stairs and saving the 4th and 5th victims. "Hopefully, with all the preparations made, we can get first place again after the National KRI 2022, Dome wins second place," said the Electrical Engineering Lecturer.
