Malang, (12/02) The development of a curriculum based on industrial needs has become a major need to balance educational needs in the industrial era 4.0. For that, on Saturday, February 12, 2022, UMM Electrical Engineering Study Program and stakeholders from the industry (PT Alfan Mechatronics Innovation, PT Etrama Nusa Energi, and PT Zaada Bana Engineering) sat down together to conduct a curriculum workshop.

Mr. Ivan Ahsanul Insan, CEO of PT. Zaada Bana Engineering said that basically, the curriculum of the Muhammadiyah Electrical Engineering Study Program was quite good. But there needs to be additional development in the field of entrepreneurship, sales engineering, and soft skill development. This is to bridge the needs of the field of project management, time scheduling, WBS, project schedules, and making proposals with the swift market demand. This step is expected able to produce new talents in the energy sector, especially in the PLTS sector.

In harmony with Mr. Ivan Ahsanul Insan, Mr. Yongki Adi Pratama, Technical Director of PT. Etrama Nusa Energi said that education should be able to produce ready-made workers. For this reason, it is very rational to make the economy and entrepreneurship more effective in one container. On the other hand, electricity management and K3 are quite relevant if it is also replaced with an interconnection system, considering that this field is very crucial in the development of PV mini-grid. Mr. Yongki also suggested that the implementation of the internship could include the main points, for example, product knowledge, brand components or main equipment, planning and actualizing installations in the field so that it is expected to foster a work atmosphere in college.

In the activities carried out at the Kapal Garden Hotel on February 12, 2022, apart from offline discussions, online discussions were also held. On the online channel, Mr. Alfan Imawan, Director of PT. Alfan Mechatronics Innovation Engineering believes that internships are very effective if carried out continuously between 4-6 months considering that manpower can be a very crucial business asset.

The workshop ended with the signing of the MoU CoE (Center of Excellence) PLTS represented by the Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering UMM, Prof. Ilyas Masudin, Ph.D. from the Electrical Engineering Study Program, and representatives of 3 DUDI.
