University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) recorded a glorious achievement in the world-class robot contest Trinity College Fire Fighting Home Robot Contest (TCFFHRC). On 13-15 April, three UMM robotics teams won. Namely the first and second winners in the legged fire fighting robot category (legs four and six), and the second winner in the fire extinguisher robot category. TCFFHRC was held at Trinity College Hartford Connecticut, United States,
"This world-class robot contest is competing 32 teams from various countries, such as Israel, China, and others," said one team member, Alfan Achmadillah Fauzi, released by UMM Public Relations.
Aside from Alfan, the team consists of Rohmansyah, Ken Dedes Maria Khunty. These three Robotics Teams of UMM were appointed as representatives of Indonesia because they succeeded in coming out as national champions based on the assignment letter of the Director General of Belmawa Kemenristekdikti of the Republic of Indonesia no. T / 274 / B3.1 / KM / 02.04 / 2019.
This achievement in America also repeats the history of the same achievements in 2017. Two UMM Robotic teams bought up 1st and 2nd place at the same time for the legged robot category. The two teams namely InaMuh team won first place and Malang Unmuh team won second place. InaMuh team also won the best poster winner. It was on this experience that the "DOME" Robot Team of UMM was very confident in continuing its champion tradition.
Meanwhile, the UMM "DOME" fire extinguisher robot again dominated KRI 2019, which was the fastest in the Regional Robot Competition Indonesia (KRI) IV on April 21-23, 2019 at the University of Mataram. The team led by Bayu Irawan Nugroho and Dwi Nur Fajar succeeded in defeating the toughest competitor, Universitas Brawijaya (UB) in second, and Sepuluh November Technology University (ITS) in third.
UMM's Robotic Team was won as the first winner of this prestigious robot contest between universities in Indonesia, after the UMM DOME Robot recorded its fastest accumulated time value, which was 1.16 in the first session; 1.24 in the second session; and 1.11 in the third session, with a final grade of 3.51. Meanwhile, Robot Bhatara Wijaya UB recorded its final value at 4.69 and ITS Abnara-1 Robot recorded its final value at 6.57.
UMM "DOME" fire fighting robot as the best team in the Regional IV robot contest will be invited to take part in the National robot contest. If again it gets good achievements, namely coming out as the first winner of the KRI National fire extinguisher category, UMM will again represent Indonesia at the Trinity College International Robot Contest 2020 in Hartford, Connecticut, United States.
UMM's "DOME" robot also received team achievements with the Best Strategy. The team leader admitted, Bayu Irawan, that his team's strength was in mapping the path from the start point to the Fire point. "Our mapping strategy is not wordy. From start directly to the point of fire and back again to start. While other teams have to check into an empty room first, "he said when contacted Thursday (25/4). (* / sir / oci)
