Malang (22/7), On Saturday, July 22, 2023, the Faculty of Engineering, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) held a meeting for New Student Guardians at the UMM Dome. This event was a historical moment for prospective new students and parents/guardians who attended, where they joined forces to start their academic journey in higher education. The series of events began with a special briefing from the UMM Chancellor, Mr. Prof. Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd., who provided inspiration and motivation to prospective new students. He emphasized the importance of enthusiasm, dedication, and consistency in pursuing knowledge and facing future challenges. The Chancellor also provides a full commitment to support and develop students in achieving academic and non-academic achievements.
After a briefing from the Chancellor, the event participants were guided by a Faculty program that featured remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Mr. Prof. Ilyas Masudin, M.LogSCM., Ph.D., who conveyed warm greetings and prayers so that new students would be given a smooth journey to college. Followed by an explanation about Students with Achievement and International Insight (MBKM) by Vice Dean I, Mr. Zulfatman, ST., MT., Ph.D., as well as a presentation on administration and academic support facilities by Vice Dean II, Mrs. Ir. Gita Indah Marthasari, ST., M.Kom.
No less interesting was the discussion session that took place between each Head of Study Program (Head of Study Program) and the New Student Guardians. This discussion involved many interesting topics, including college financial mechanisms, various LSO (Semi-Autonomous Institution) activities at the Faculty level, and the opportunity to take part in MBKM activities in the form of converted internships which are very beneficial for student career development. The parents and guardians of the event participants warmly welcomed the atmosphere of this meeting. They hope that their sons and daughters can complete their studies on time and gain a lot of valuable knowledge and experience while studying at the UMM Faculty of Engineering. It is hoped that their children's success will be a source of pride for the family and the community.
The meeting of New Student Guardians at the UMM Faculty of Engineering succeeded in creating a warm, enthusiastic, and mutually motivating atmosphere. It is hoped that, with full support from the guardians and academic institutions, prospective new students will depart with high enthusiasm to pursue a brilliant and successful academic journey at the Muhammadiyah University of Malang.
