Yogyakarta (21/10), On 16 to 20 October 2023, the Surya Semi-Autonomous Institution (LSO) Team from the Faculty of Engineering, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) enthusiastically took part in the 18th Indonesian Bridge Contest (KJI) (KJI XVIII) which was held at the Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta. This prestigious competition aims to test students' abilities in designing and building optimal bridges with the theme "Optimum Bridge Design by Young Global Talents."
The UMM team, which consists of students from the Faculty of Engineering, has been well prepared and given guidance by an expert in their field, Mr. Andi Syaiful Amal, Ir., MT, IPM, ASEAN Eng. Mr Andi Syaiful Amal is a teacher and practitioner who has extensive experience in the field of bridge engineering.
The release of this team was carried out by the Secretary of the UMM Civil Engineering Study Program, Mr. Moh. Abduh, Dr. Ir., ST, MT, IPU, ACPE, ASEAN Eng., who also really support student participation in this national level competition.
In the 18th KJI competition, the UMM team will compete with teams from various universities throughout Indonesia to win the title as the best bridge designer and builder. They will face various technical and creative challenges in an effort to create a bridge that is not only durable, but also meets aesthetic and safety criteria.
UMM Faculty of Engineering students who are members of the LSO Surya Team are very enthusiastic and ready to give their best to make their alma mater proud. They have trained hard and applied the knowledge they gained during college in designing optimal bridges.
The enthusiasm and support from the entire academic community of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang also colored this team's journey in facing KJI XVIII. Hopefully the LSO Surya Team, Faculty of Engineering, UMM can give the best performance and achieve brilliant achievements in this competition and inspire young Indonesian talents in the field of bridge engineering.
