Malang (25/1), Faculty of Engineering, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) held a Workshop on the Preparation of Guidelines and Implementation of the OBE (Outcome-Based Education) Curriculum with a focus on the Evaluation and Quality Assurance System. This event took place at the Kapal Garden Hotel, Sengkaling, UMM on January 25, 2024.
This workshop was attended by all lecturers in the UMM Faculty of Engineering. Dean of FT UMM, Prof. Ir. Ilyas Masudin, MLogSCM., Ph.D., in his speech, said that OBE is an educational approach that focuses on the learning outcomes that students want to achieve.
"The OBE curriculum is expected to produce graduates who have the competencies needed by the industrial and work worlds," said Prof. Ilyas.
Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Engineering UMM, Zulfatman, ST., M.Eng., Ph.D., added that this workshop aims to compile guidelines and guidelines for implementing the OBE curriculum at the Faculty of Engineering UMM.
"This guide is expected to help lecturers in implementing learning with the OBE system," said Zulfatman.
This workshop was led by the Head of the UMM Informatics Study Program, Galih Wasis Wicaksono, Ir., S.kom. M.Cs., and the Head of the UMM Electrical Engineering Study Program, Khusnul Hidayat, S.T., M.T.
In this workshop, participants were provided with materials on OBE principles, preparation of graduate learning outcomes (CPL), learning design, and assessment systems.
Participants also practiced preparing RPS (Semester Learning Plan) and learning assessment with the OBE system.
This workshop is expected to produce comprehensive and easily understood OBE curriculum implementation guidelines and guidelines for lecturers at the Faculty of Engineering, UMM.
